Theaterbesuch: See How They Run

A few weeks ago, some students from different classes joined a voluntary school trip to the English Theatre in Vienna, together with Professor Merlingen. The main goal of the excursion was to do something different from normal lessons and to improve our English in a fun way. In the evening, we watched the play “See How They Run”.

For many of us, it was the first time visiting the English Theatre Vienna with our school. Our professor came with us and helped us if we didn’t understand everything. The theatre itself was very nice and had a special feeling.

The play “See How They Run” is a comedy and is set in England during the 1940s. The story is about a vicar, his wife, some soldiers, and other visitors, who all meet in a house. Because of many misunderstandings and people confusing each other, very funny situations happen. There are lots of quick entrances and exits, which made the play very entertaining. Even if we didn’t understand every single word, the actions and expressions of the actors made it easy to follow the play.

In the end, we really enjoyed the excursion. It was a nice change from everyday school life, and some of us would definitely want to go to the theatre again.
